About the event:
The June 2023 Asia-Pacific INFF Exchange event served as a forum for dialogue between policymakers leading INFF processes across the region, engaging private sector actors, civil society and international partners on sustainable finance. Through this event, participants shared and learned from promising approaches and practices, discussed innovations and identified opportunities and challenges for financing sustainable development. The event was jointly hosted by the INFF Facility, UNDP, UNDESA, UNESCAP and EU.
About session 6: Strengthening alignment of public spending with the SDGs for the better impact
Exploring how Public Financial Management (PFM) can optimally allocate resources, the session underscored the role of government budgets in fulfilling Agenda 2030. The discussion covered topics like SDG integration in public investment systems, building climate resilience, and social sector public analysis. The focus was on how PFM reforms can enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and equity of government spending, contributing to accelerated progress towards the SDGs.
