About session 2: Fostering private investment in sustainable development agenda
The session explored the challenges and opportunities for private investment in sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region. Amid rapid growth, there is high demand for investment in infrastructure, energy, and other crucial sectors for sustainable development across the region. Yet significant barriers remain, related to policies and regulations, lack of risk and cost-sharing mechanisms, and limited access to pertinent information. The objective of this session was to discuss the evolving role of the private sector in financing sustainable development and the role of the INFF in facilitating this. Panelists shared their insights on potential solutions, the transforming private financing landscape, and strategies to scale efforts for a strong impact.
