Through its INFF process, the Government of Lao PDR developed a financing strategy for the country’s ninth five-year National Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2025 (NSEDP).
The INFF process has supported the methodology development and capacity building to cost NSEDP plans, integration of SDG budget tagging into the revised national Chart of Accounts, the development of a model investment case for the health sector and the strengthening of policy coherence.
In addition, the INFF process enabled discussions around sensitive and critical issues at the forefront of the national policy agenda, including the review and abolishment of fiscal exemptions, the review of the investment promotion regime and business environment, the exploration of debt relief initiatives and the importance of safeguarding investments in human capital and climate action.
