Botswana

Through its INFF, Botswana will undertake much needed reforms to mobilise domestic and international sources of public and private financing towards the SDGs.

The Government of Botswana is using an INFF process to improve its revenue-generating capacity in support of the SDGs at both national and local levels. In addition, the government is committed to improving the efficiency of spending across all sectors and addressing corruption and illicit financial flows.

Developing an SDG financing strategy requires the collective involvement of all development actors. Strategic areas under the financing strategy include tax reforms, the alignment of planning and budgeting processes with the SDGs, inclusive SDG financing dialogues and analysis of gender-responsive budgeting.
