Developing critical building blocks to transform the way Bhutan finances its development priorities

Building on the country’s development finance assessment, the Government of Bhutan aims to strengthen public and private financing and develop financial governance systems to support the SDGs within the timeframe of Bhutan's 12th Five-Year Plan (2018-2023).

Bhutan’s INFF targets key pillars, including leveraging private capital for SDG-aligned investments, enhancing financial governance and strengthening capacities related to integrated financing systems. Overall, the Government of Bhutan will develop a gender- and climate-responsive financing system, align and coordinate national systems and strategies with sustainable development priorities and develop an environment that promotes SDG-aligned private sector investment.
