About the event: 

The June 2023 Asia-Pacific INFF Exchange event served as a forum for dialogue between policymakers leading INFF processes across the region, engaging private sector actors, civil society and international partners on sustainable finance. Through this event, participants shared and learned from promising approaches and practices, discussed innovations and identified opportunities and challenges for financing sustainable development. The event was jointly hosted by the INFF Facility, UNDP, UNDESA, UNESCAP and EU. 


About session 5: Responding to sustainability imperatives: progress on enabling environment, the ESGs and the SDG impact opportunity

The session delved into the evolving landscape of sustainable development finance. It illuminated how integrating SDGs can channel private financing flows more effectively toward sustainable development. Panelists addressed global sustainability-linked classifications, the practical implementation of taxonomies like the CCPT and SRI, the ecosystem supporting sustainable finance, and the transition from ESG compliance to a positive SDG impact. It emphasized the importance of private sector financing in bridging the SDG financing gap.
