The Development Finance Assessment (DFA) Report offers key insights for enhancing development financing in Katete District and providing lessons to other local authorities across the country.

The DFA addresses key challenges and opportunities for mobilizing financing for sustainable development. It emphasizes the importance of aligning national and sectoral plans (8NDP) with District Integrated Development Plans, Ward Development Plans, District Budget Processes, and Financing Strategies. The development of an Integrated District Financing Framework (IDFF) is vital and this will help Katete to contribute to achieving Zambia’s Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while addressing challenges linked to climate change, limited revenue sources, and restricted land access for development.

The report provides a detailed account of the challenges in achieving and financing Integrated Development Plan (IDP) programmes, acknowledging the adverse effects of climate change. Accurate information from the DFA will provide essential insights for selecting, approving, implementing, and monitoring the best and most promising bankable IDP-related projects.
