What is an integrated national financing framework (INFF)? How can my country finance its sustainable development objectives? Are there gaps or misalignments in our financing processes and policies that could undermine the achievement of the SDGs and climate goals? How can an INFF help address these challenges? What would an INFF look like in my country?

Policymakers at the country level often grapple with these questions. With so many materials available, we’ve decided to bring together the most important and relevant information into two e-learning courses.

On the 20th of April at the 2023 ECOSOC Financing for Development Forum, the INFF Facility launched two new e-learning courses to help practitioners navigate these challenges and more.

The introductory course “Integrated National Financing Frameworks (INFFs): An Introduction” and the in-depth course “Integrated National Financing Frameworks (INFFs): From theory to practice” provide thorough instruction on how INFFs can strengthen financing processes and practices at the country level. They will enable learners to translate theory into practice.

Both courses cover essential aspects of an INFF, including the building blocks, key stakeholders, and successful examples from early implementers. The introductory course offers a condensed overview suitable for those with limited time, while the in-depth course goes deeper into each building block, providing methods, tools, and practical tips for the inception phase and beyond.

These courses cater to policymakers and experts involved in designing and implementing INFFs, supporting international organizations and development partners, and other interested parties. After completing the courses, participants will be equipped to operationalize an INFF in their country.

The e-learning courses were developed by the INFF Facility, with funding from the European Union and additional support from the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.
